Abstract:
WikiBhasha is a framework to enable easy creation of multilingual content in any wiki site, leveraging content from multiple sources such as content from other languages, content from web etc. WikiBhasha is designed as a modular and extensible framework, integrated with a variety of linguistic, collaborative and workflow components. Because of the extensibility features and architecture of WikiBhasha, it can be used even outside of multilingual scenarios, such as for implementing a workflow, wiki content creation etc. WikiBhasha is released as an open-source MediaWiki extension, partly under Apache 2 and partly under GPL 2 licenses. The user and developer documentations are available as a part of the extension release. WikiBhasha is also available as a bookmarklet in the WikiBhasha release site, along with the user guide and a tutorial. WikiBhasha currently supports about 40 languages. In this session, we will discuss how WikiBhasha framework can be used for various content creation scenarios. We will go its architecture, extensibility and customization features and give examples of how you can leverage this framework in your application for content creation or workflow scenarios. We will also go over the evolution of WikiBhasha from its initial idea.
